Working Well North Tyneside: How two new hubs are helping residents find employment and improve their skills

If you are looking for a place to work, learn new skills, or get support for your health and wellbeing, you might want to check out the Working Well hubs in North Tyneside. These hubs are designed to help people who are unemployed or facing barriers to work to access a range of services and opportunities.

The Working Well hubs are part of the Working Well programme, which is funded by the European Social Fund and delivered by North Tyneside Council in partnership with local organisations. The programme aims to support people who are furthest from the labour market to improve their employability and wellbeing.

The Working Well hubs are located in The Beacon Shopping Centre, North Shields and on the second floor of Wallsend Customer First Centre, Wallsend Forum. They offer free access to computers, internet, printing, scanning and photocopying, as well as advice and guidance on employment, training, education, volunteering, health and wellbeing. You can also join workshops and courses on topics such as CV writing, interview skills, digital skills, confidence building, stress management and more.

The hubs can help with:

  • Increasing your income based on your interests.
  • Understanding the job market and where your skills and strengths lie.
  • Accessing good quality training and job opportunities.
  • CV's, application forms and cover letters, job search websites and social media support.
